    Default 1.4 TSI Ticking

    Hi Team Skoda!

Iíve been browsing existing threads in this forum however I couldnít find a post relating to my query. Just in case there was, I apologise and please direct me to the post.

My Rapid has developed a ticking noise which is quite loud during cold start then turn down a bit when the engine reaches its running temperature. I also notice the engine is a little rough during idle on cold start however when the engine reaches its running temperature, the engine is faultless (apart from the ticking noise which goes every time a step on the throttle). Has anyone experienced the same issue? Iíve been reading a lot in terms of ticking noise and they all suspect the fuel injectors.

the ticking noise is somehow the same as the link below but I reckon mine is louder. Its said in the youtube video its normal however I know its not as my car wasnít ticking before.

I would really appreciate your thoughts guys. Cheers

Have you had it scanned for any errors, that would be the first thing I would do?

Iíve had the car serviced recently, dealership didnít mention any faults. They recommended to have the spark plugs and wiring harness changed and said the noise could be caused by bad wiring. I ended up paying the spark plugs replacement whilst the wiring harness was under warranty ($800 worth). oh well both didnít solve the issues. Iíve got no plans of going back to that dealership as I feel like they didnít check my car properly. Any recommendation for good Skoda dealership or specialists in Melbourne?
