Thread: Wheel swap ?

    Default Wheel swap ?

I purchased in November '19, a Skoda Superb 162tsi MY19 as a demo with a heap of options on it. It is fitted with 19" Phoenix anthracite alloy wheels with Bridgestone Potenza S001 235/40 R19 tyres. As I am a Senior in my late 70's and live in Corrigin WA, and frequently drive long distances, I would would prefer a set of 17" Stratos alloys with 215/55 R17 tyres (normally fitted as standard on my model of car). I think the Superb is a great car but as I was looking for a luxury not performance ride (our roads in WA are sealed with a coarse blue metal and low profile tyres create a lot of tyre noise) I would like to do a swap with anyone in Western Australia with a set of 17" wheels as described.

Hi Eric, I used this site I used when I changed the rims on my Superb
It shows a 19/18 & 17 " options for your car with the specific rim size & offset and the tyre size to suit.
    Tire Rim PCD
    215/55R17 94V 7Jx17 ET40 5x112 2.3 / 2.1
    235/45ZR18 94W 8Jx18 ET44 5x112 2.4 / 2.2
    235/40ZR19 96W 8Jx19 ET44 5x112 2.5 / 2.3
    245/35ZR20 93Y 8.5Jx20 ET40 5x112 2.6 / 2.4
I then went to the wheel supplier of my choice and gave them the specs and they provided options. I went for 19's x 8.5 but have th electronic suspension option which allows the ride softning, but I get where your coming from re ride harshness.

Good luck with the option of a swap, someone out there may fancy the upgrade, or you can just buy a new set of aftermarkets

    Hope that helps

Thanks Justin. Yes I have found that wheel specifications site. If I can't find a swap that is what I will eventually do. Regards Eric.
